The basic idea of the project was, despite all the heterogeneity, to strengthen the individuality of our students in such a way that they become mature, critical and positive-thinking, creative members of European society. As this is a very long process, we decided to start our journey with the teachers and staff of the school. Through stays in other European countries, they should get ideas on how it is possible to better support the learners individually and thus strengthen them in their development into a responsible personality. For this purpose, various media tools and didactic solutions should be learned in courses and implemented at one's own school. But contacts made with teachers during mobility should also be reflected back to the school and lead to long-term partnerships. Finally, the activities at the school should be visible to teachers, learners and parents in such a way that they can become an indispensable part of the school profile and have a lasting effect. In addition, the organizational prerequisites for a change in the forms of teaching should be created at their own school.
Before this project, we were at the beginning of our European development plan. Various evaluations identified deficits which should be reduced with the help of the measures from this project application. In particular, due to our location on the border with the Czech Republic, a country that was very far away, at least in people's minds, until the fall of the Iron Curtain, ideas of openness to new and foreign things do not have it particularly easy at first, which is also reflected in the percentage of the electorate anti-European parties in various elections in our region. In order to sensitize and encourage our clientele, pupils from about 10-18 years, in the direction of a joyful discovery of the cultural treasures that the different in Europe can offer, we worked on this plan and it finally also in the act implemented. Linked to this was the hope for a slow change that would find its way into the spirit of our school. This final report should provide information about the progress on this path and thus also offer us reflection on our further European path.
