We wanted to further expand the international dimension of learning for all stakeholders in the school. In addition to expanding and consolidating the existing offers in the field of mobility, this also includes establishing permanent contacts with other social work institutions both at national and European level. This focus on Europe, which the vocational part of the JAS has been pursuing for ten years now, was what the management and the colleagues in the general educational areas of the JAS, but especially the technical college wanted to achieve in the same way. Similar to the colleagues in vocational training, we wanted to give the colleagues in the general education departments of the school the opportunity to continue their To constantly expand skills on a professional, linguistic and cognitive level through stays abroad in order to improve the quality of teaching.
The Jane Addams School (JAS) has been active in the implementation of EU mobility projects since 2009. The implementation of these projects in conjunction with participation in other European projects to improve quality, primarily for the management and teaching staff of the school, have already resulted in the school experiencing a stronger European orientation. Analogous to students at universities, who have been studying for a long time with the awareness of the possibility, perhaps even the necessity, of a stay abroad, this awareness has meanwhile also grown more and more at JAS. The basis of the increased awareness among the learners is the constant international further training of the teachers.
