Objectives

The aims of the project were • improving staff competences with regard to the meaningful and increased use of digital media in teaching (in the sense of modern teaching and learning methods of the 21st century), • strengthening online collaboration and use of platforms such as eTwinning, School Education Gateway and Moodle, • an increased intercultural orientation of teaching, teachers and pupils, • strengthening the European awareness at our school, • the promotion of foreign language competence, especially of teachers, who do not teach a (foreign) language, so that they become even more involved in our international work in the future, • improving the integration/inclusion of pupils of non-German origin, • the provision of more extensive knowledge about school education in Europe as well as culture and cultural diversity, and finally • establishing new European contacts so that teachers who have participated in the mobilities can initiate further European projects and also, for example, find international internships and prepare their pupils for them.

Background

As an institute of vocational education and training, we are strongly interested in developing qualitatively through experience and certain processes, and in implementing pedagogical changes and innovations in a targeted, transparent and sustainable way. The project "The digital integration class 2.0 - digital - intercultural - democratic - inclusive" is the continuation of the previous project with almost the same name. It was born out of the idea to link the European/ international work of our school with the development towards a digital school and to further develop it against the background of a school that is characterised by a tolerant as well as supportive and challenging atmosphere, in order to orientate our teaching more towards inclusive European education in the future with the help of digital media. We carried out this project, since the experiences from the first project had shown that there is a constant need in the further education and training of our teachers with regard to digitalisation and intercultural education, but also democracy education and inclusion, in order to be able to cope with the dynamic social changes in Europe and the demands associated with them.
