Project summary

The main focus of this project is to build a network between Teaching Training Centers (TTC) for the future and to exchange relevant questions in order to improve teacher training at each institute. The partners of this project have almost the same structure in the field of TTC, but with very different realities. The location of these countries is widely spaced around Europe. We want to get to know each other´s teacher training practice and improve and enrich our practice. We want to analyse the types of courses and the topics addressed and also the impact of theses courses on the professional development on the teachers of the partnership. Having the opportunity of working with european partners of the same field becomes a necessary issue nowadays, specially with the political situation that influences us. We need to row in the same direction, and working in the fields that are interesting for teachers and therefore, designing formations for teachers which adapt to true reality. On the other hand, it is very interesting for us to know what is the theoretical paradigm that sustains the teacher training in each of the countries. What are its objectives and how are the training processes carried out.

Objectives

By implementing this project, we wanted to: - Get to know each other´s best practice and weak points for mutual improvement; - Evaluate the participation of the teachers in the courses; - Optimize the designing and implementation of the courses; - Study the way each country evaluates the impact of the courses on the trainees, and discuss the way to improve it; - Compare different types of training courses and share experiences of best examples of each country; - Evaluate the impact of the trainings on the target groups (teachers attending an specific training\courses). Our specific objetives were: - Identify quality criteria of teachers training; - Define a model of organization and assessment of teacher training; - Design a training course for teacher trainers. This project not only benefited the daily work of the TTC, but also the education and training of teachers. At the same time, as a long-term goal, we aimed at increasing the attractiveness of the teaching profession. We believe that all institutions face similar issues and challenges. Close networking allowed us to work together on similar topics and find good working solutions

Background

The main objective of this application was to share the knowledge of European Training Centres in order to develop good and new practices related to teacher training. We wanted to get to know each other´s teacher training practice and improve as well as enrich our practice. The main needs identified that led us to apply for this project were: - There is no defined model of how to train and prepare teachers to face the teaching/learning challenges; - There is no defined profile (competencies) a good teachers´ trainer should be and have; - There are no defined methodologies and strategies to properly assess teachers during and after the training. Therefore, the main focus of this project was to build a network between Teaching Training Centres (TTC) for the future and to exchange relevant questions in order to improve teacher training at each institute. The partners of this project have almost the same structure in the field of TTC, but with very different realities. We needed to row in the same direction, and working in the fields that are interesting for teachers and therefore, designing training for teachers which adapt to true reality.
