Project summary

The ISS F. Alberghetti (Imola / Italy) and the Oskar von Miller School (Kassel / Germany) have been working on the further development of their pedagogical concepts for years, in response to changing economic, structural and pedagogical conditions. The goal is the realization of a new learning and teaching culture, which motivates the learners and places them at the center of the activities of the learning process. The role of the teacher in this pedagogical concept is that of a coach who suports the learner. Classes are largely individualized; learning management systems and computer-based training (cbt) are implemented. So learning can be independent of time and place; In the dual training system (Germany), training companies can also be involved in the course of the learning cooperation. In full-time VET systems (Italy), learning activities in traineeships can be linked to learning in the classroom. International co-operation enables the reconciliation and further development of pedagogical developments in schools. In combination withplacements abroad, the European dimension of today's working and living environment becomes recognizable and tangible for the project-involved learners and teachers. In this way required intercultural competences can be built up The aim of all activities of the participating schools in the context of VETn is to make the learners "fit for the future" in a globalized economy and to support the ability to lifelong and self-determined learning. In the field of automotive engineering of the participating schools, this should be further supported by the selection, testing and implementation of suitable computer based training software. After the project has been completed, the trainees (8 students of the automotive sector) can independently use the jointly developed learning / teaching arrangements and learning materials in the classroom and - if possibly - also in practical training phases. So they are able to develop the abilities described above. The project outcomes will be developed during three activities (activity 1: 3 teachers per school will develop appropriate learning and teaching materials; activity 2: 8 students each school will test the developed materials; activity 3: 8 students each school will test the revised materials and develop a multilingual video tutorial to use the software and materials) and are then transferred to the regular VET activities of the participating schools. Cooperation in the project strengthens the professional and social skills of the participants and creates a mutual understanding of the life and work of the participating learners and teachers. As part of the dissemination, information sessions will be held for local and regional network partners of the schools. The described method of working should be used to further develop and consolidate the cooperation of the partners.

Final report summary

The ISS F. Alberghetti (Imola/Italy) and the Oskar-von-Miller-Schule (Kassel/Germany) have been working for years on the further development of their pedagogical concepts in response to changing economic, structural and pedagogical conditions. The aim is to realise a new learning and teaching culture that motivates learners and places them at the centre of classroom activities. The role of the teacher in this pedagogical concept is that of a coach who advises the learners. The teaching is individualised as far as possible and realised with the help of learning management systems and computer-based training (cbt). Learning can thus take place independent of time and place; in the dual training system (Germany), the training companies can also be integrated in the course of learning location cooperation. In full-time school-based VET systems (Italy), learning activities in the internship companies can be linked to learning in the classroom. International cooperation makes it possible to compare and further develop the pedagogical developments that have been started at the schools. For the learners and teachers involved in the project, the European dimension of today's working and living environment became recognisable and tangible in combination with learning stays abroad. Necessary intercultural competences can be built up in this way. The goal of all activities of the participating schools in the course of vocational (initial) training is to make the learners "fit for the future" in a globalised economy and to support the ability for lifelong and self-determined learning. In the field of motor vehicle technology at the participating schools, this was done by selecting, testing and implementing suitable computer-based training software. After the implementation of the project, the learners (8 learners each from the motor vehicle sector) can independently use the jointly developed learning/teaching arrangements and learning materials in lessons and, if necessary, in practical training phases and thus develop the skills described above. Due to the pandemic situation (school closures, travel was not possible), only two of the three meeting could be realised. Also, the communication possibilities were very limited due to the different "digital development" of the project partners during this time. The project results were therefore only developed and tested during two activities (encounter 1: 3 teachers each develop suitable learning-teaching arrangements and teaching materials; encounter 2: 8 learners each test the developed materials) and were then transferred to the regular operation of the participating schools. The cooperation in the project strengthened the professional and social competences of the participants and built up a mutual understanding of the living and working environment of the participating learners and teachers. In the course of dissemination, information on the project results was brought into the local and regional networks of the schools. After the end of the project, the project partners want to consolidate the cooperation and develop the outstanding materials.
