At a time when social cohesion across Europe is threatened by populism, polarisation and hate speech, our project focuses on a cornerstone of the European community of values that must be defended against this trend: on solidarity. The two core objectives of our project are committed to this claim: On the one hand, by dealing with this complex basic democratic value young Europeans are stimulated to consciously reflect on their identity as EU citizens and to actively live and defend Europe's democratic order of values. On the other hand, we are aiming to make the EU motto "United in Diversity" a positive experience: Our project aims to promote diversity awareness and inclusion, i.e. a respectful attitude towards social diversity, which is why great importance is attached to the heterogeneous composition of the participants.
