The project "empowered by health" uses two encounters, seperated by three months, to bring together 32 young people from Germany and Ireland in order to work on their resilience united and cross-nationally. This work is not about health literally, but instead about well-beeing and salutogenesis. What is good for me? What empowers me? What enables me to plan my future optimistically? - in spite of bad models in their childhood home or peer group, possibly. We use different settings and non formal education methods to leave the passive role and take over responsibility for the own person. The majority of the young people participating in our project come from educationally alienated family circumstances and some of them have different migrant backgrounds. All to often they look ahead sceptically and pessimistically, concerning their educational an occupational outlook. In our project they will be motivated to be individually initiative as well as creative in order to discuss together both their known and unfamiliar lifestyle habits or moral concepts in an experience-oriented way. Based on voluntariness, holism and process-orientation the young people acquire strategies, which can help them coping with everyday life and arrange steps to their personal future.
