The international youth exchange "Point of You" will bring together 20 young people from four different countries - Greece, the Netherlands, Spain and Germany - and will give them the opportunity to get in touch and to meet at eye level. The participants will be involved in all steps of the project planning and will organize the exchange as independently as possible. By this, they will experience their self-efficacy, will increase their organizational, entrepreneurial, but also foreign-language and intercultural competencies. Through a peer learning process, they are supported in designing the exchange according to their wishes and needs, and in contributing their own contents. The participants will deal with urban culture and socio-cultural spaces and their relevance for shaping our society and for the implementation of the UN Human Rights Declaration. The participants should understand and get to know urban culture (graffiti, hip hop, street art, ...) as an expression of resistance to long-standing social traditions / certainties within our society. However, this resistance does not only have a divisive effect, but can also generate innovations in society and create new potentials. In this way, the participants should become aware of their own scope within social structures, of ascriptions and power structures, and to make use of their possibilties. By engaging with these topics, young people should learn that they also have opportunities to position themselves in a non-conventional way, to pursue their needs and to actively contribute to the further development of the society in which they wish to live in. Next to discussions about above-mentioned topics, the participants will be asked to deal with them creatively in various workshops (e.g. photography, film). They will thus have the oppourtinty to take their experiences during the youth exchange and present the results of the workshops at the end of the nine days.
