Objectives

Make Your Move - tools for youth participation project comes to address specific youth needs. Eurostat shows worrying statistics related to youth – unemployment, social, economic and participation challenges. EU Strategy for Youth shows young people's concerns: education, employment, social inclusion, health. Erasmus+ contributes in tackling socio-economic changes and challenges youth is facing: unemployment, educational drop-outs, marginalization, exclusion etc. FÖJ AKTIV e.V. and our network partners have researched the competences and attitudes young EU citizens’ need in 15 past projects. Based on the official statistics and our own research and observations this project proposal aims: - To provide space for networking and exchange of ideas, methods and tools - To equip youth workers with innovative tools for youth engagement - To give a fresh perspective for creativity, entrepreneurship, inclusion, diversity and promoting participation through dance and body movement - To work with hard to reach youth on local level and develop creative approaches to transmit the EU values of peace, freedom, tolerance and equity - To create impact on local level (implementation) and international level (follow-up and dissemination) ACHIEVING OUR AIMS BY - Creating a safe environment for learning, expression and cooperation - Providing tested methodology of using contemporary dance in youth work - On-spot coaching and using video and peer feedback by a team of experienced professional international trainers - Working with local institutions that work with fewer opportunities youth and people with disabilities and directly implement the new tools and methods while all learn - Developing strategies and plans for follow-up and dissemination activities to spread and test the method and reach many others All this will be supported by online preparation, on-spot training and coaching and online follow-up to create a flow in the learning process, create and implement promotion and dissemination plan that fits each partner organization in the context of their work and their target groups. Often youth workers, trainers, educators fall into the trap of "losing themselves", "panicking" or "freezing" while facilitating. As youth workers and trainers we found that participation, entrepreneurship, creativity and every key competence initiated in our mind can be manifested only through our non-verbal, body language. Dance alone is one of the most ancient techniques for personal and cultural expression. What are the connections and relationships between movement, dance and entrepreneurship, innovation and cross-mapping skills, attitude and competences? We will work with many questions and will explore together with our participants supported by the professional trainers and their co-facilitators. METHODS: non-formal and informal education, experiential learning, body awareness, outdoors, contemporary dance, NLP, coaching and video feedback. Also: peer workshops, self- and group reflection, Kolb learning cycle, DICS theory, briefings, debriefings, video and photo feedback, simulations, dance, body movement, non-verbal communication, drawing, painting, project café, open space etc.
