The project shall be an opportunity for young people to deal with memorials, remembrance and national narratives, to put them into question, to discover what is important for themselves today and regarding their future and to spread this out towards the public through art and other mediums. These objectives in the foreground are combined with the aim of promoting knowledge about and appreciation for youth participation, democracy, cultural identity, European identity, the aims of the EU, human rights and sustainability. The project aims at giving the opportunity to learn with informal methods and to make practical experiences. Youth mobility shall be promoted. By implementing the project, the partners want to achieve more awareness among the participants about their possibilities for active participation in society and more sensitivity about the values that are important to themselves. The project wants to let the participants develop a critical attitude towards common messages, stereotypes, narratives and postulates. As well, the participants shall become aware of the effects of team work, mutual solidarity and encouragement. Concerning the participants’ soft skills the project wants to offer an opportunity to the young people to make international experiences, to discover cultural commons and differences, to develop respect, tolerance and openness. At the same time the project aims at empowerment of young people regarding their abilities to take over responsibility, to form and express their opinion, to work with others on a par and to pass on their knowledge and abilities to others. Throughout the project they shall make the experience of living in an international community and shall discover what it means in a practical way to live together in a community based on democratic values. The project wants to promote further international understanding and international cooperation among the partners and among the group leaders. It aims at empowering young people to take over responsibility for others and to understand themselves as active citizens and as European citizens.
