Objectives

At a time when skepticism towards the European Union is spreading, when xenophobic tendencies and fears of the unknown are growing and social discourses are increasingly dominated by simplifications and general sentences, we need initiatives to counter these developments and to communicate the (added) values of a diverse society. In order to counter these developments, Europe needs an active, informed and self-confident civil society that works for solidarity and against exclusion and lives European values. This strong European civil society needs young people who can live and defend these values, who understand the causes, mechanisms and consequences of exclusion and discrimination, and who are all the more committed to justice, tolerance, respect and diversity. The project aims to encourage young participants to become active, self-reliant and self-reflexive citizens and to provide them with tools to work for peace and solidarity in their communities and in Europe. The young people will be enabled to move confidently and critically in the digital world, to participate productively and meaningfully and to make their voices heard. Through the inclusive design of the project and the topics dealt with, they can recognize injustice and react to it. They adopt a diversity-conscious attitude and are prepared to stand up for and demand more inclusion in their community or school environment. The young people will recognize the importance of common norms and values for living together in a diverse community, which is also the basis for a peaceful European Community.
