The main impetus for the development of the project was the search for structures that are relevant to everyday life for average young people in an alternative to school, formative and significant for conveying values. In the rural regions of the three partner countries, in some of which sports clubs can no longer even be found nationwide, this is above all the Volunteer firefighter. (Village) social community is reflected in these structures, positions, attitudes and questions are multiplied here. Here values are at least reduced and in some cases even built up. In rural regions, firefighters are not just helpers, they are opinion leaders. For this target group we wanted to try to provide a concrete and tangible experience of European cooperation. People from the three countries were brought together who train children and young people in their home regions and prepare them for active fire service. The two activities carried out were, on the one hand, to enable an exchange of experience and practice on their work with children and, on the other, to promote the development of European encounters between young firefighters. The people involved in the project or benefiting from it should be multipliers in their social environment, but also in their own institutional structures (fire brigades, offices and administrations, local politics) and convey the experience that European activities also have their concrete and useful impact in their rural regions and can also become the normal tools of professionals who work with children and young people there .
