Nowadays internet is taking huge role in our daily life. By the use of internet everybody can learn new skills, be updates about changes in the world and easily connect with other. But along side with this there are many treats. The influence of the media should not be underestimated. In the face of multiple problems of hate speech, or cyber-bullying, or hacked YouTube content, or fake news etc., we are witnessing urgent calls to manage the media environment better. After long discussions on this topic with the members of participating organisations, we came up with idea to organise youth exchange, where youngster from different countries can speak about local realities connected with media-literacy, share their experience. By helping our teens become media literate, we can help protect them from pressures from advertising and other media forms to smoke, drink, use drugs and etc. We also can help them build communication skills, encourage them to consider multiple interpretations of media messages, put portrayals of themselves and others in perspective, and improve media use habits, such as changing ritualistic viewing behaviors. In addition, we can improve the media use habits of the entire family and promote more proactive behavior among all family members. The objectives of this youth exchange are: - Understanding how media content affects culture and society, - Sharing experience of different youngsters connected with the case of media literacy, - Recognition of poverty, misinformation, manipulation and loyalty, - Design and use new tools on media literacy for youngsters, - Produce media materials with the promotion of media literacy, - Develop toolkit on media literacy activities. Our participants will acquire and improve learning outcomes and competences connected with European Youth Goals. We will put emphasis on quality learning, constructive dialogue. We want to connect youth with EU, youth organisations & European programmes. We are sure that media literacy and critical thinking is very important for youth, especially nowadays, and we will focus on strengthening them. Our participants will acquire knowledge and skills like designing non-formal activities and lead groups, managing itinerary plans, documentations and planning of international visits, recognizing fake news. They will improve communication and language skills, learn how to work under pressure of time, how to not be a victim of cyberbullying. Youth will also acquire some attitudes important for young European like intercultural sense of cooperation in a group, openness to differences, empathy and understanding, self initiative, courage to ask questions and be openly curious . Participants, thank to leaders and elaborated topics will be a starting point for the next initiatives alike. We will strengthen their potential of multiplying results of international experiences and EU values embracing all the activities with welcoming ambience, good atmosphere and friendly but professional approach. Besides, the desired impact touches tightly topic of aware use of media in modern world, FOMO syndrome and race of manipulating techniques, where youth is a guinea pig for media. We wish awareness about media literacy instruments, role and its destination will fructify with more effective use of internet but also offline media by youth, as well as their peers and possibly families. We wish youth to be more careful with making their opinion, deciding on which influence they want to follow and stop before they choose extreme position. Secondly, regarding values of EU as for transnational meeting within YE programs, we wish youth to build network with international organisations where they can try to make their voluntary service or work on ESC initiatives.
