Objectives

World around is full of challenges. One of them is racism. Racism is ugly. It divides people into "us" and "them", based on where we come from or the colour of our skin. And it happens when people feel that it's okay to treat others badly as they go about their daily lives. Racism is never okay. But it still happens in Germany, Croatia, Ukraine, Georgia. Every day. Not all racism is obvious. An employer might look through a list of job applicants and decide not to interview people with Arabic sounding surnames. Or a young guy from an African background might be followed around by security guards who assume he's going to steal something. These kinds of racism can be much harder to address, because they involve the prejudices that we often don't talk or think about. It is called Invisuble racism. Through this youth exchange, we want to talk about soft skills that will allow us not only to use information uninterruptedly and to be manipulated in such a way, but will help us to intelligently and critically approach to what and how we receive from the outside world. The peculiarity of our project is that we will not ignore the problems of modern society, such as military conflicts, migrant issues, LGBT rights, gender equality and other issues of discussion, but we will conduct an open dialogue, trying to find out how this information is broadcast in different ways in different countries and how we can consciously perceive it. Our youth exchange is a project for active youth who wants to develop and share their skills, knowledge and attitudes as an essential competence for making changes on local, national and international levels. The main idea is to understand the new paradigm of the youth involvement and participation in Europe and how the right attitude together with the soft skills can open many doors and create new opportunities for young people. The youth exchange will give the participants the possibility to share their experience and to learn from the experience of others, and additionally to adjust their knowledge in the field of preventing invisible racism and empover no-hate attitude. Therefore the highest learn outcome will be achieved through the exchange of ideas and attitudes. Objectives: - to understand better European realities in the field of invisible racism and address non-formal education approach as a creative solution for empowering yourself; - to raise youngsters’ European awareness, promote European values and get youngsters more sensitive towards the actual global challenges; - to improve personal competence as an added values; - to fill the gap between formal learning and competences requested by the labor market; in terms of flexibility, multilingualism, creativity and soft skills in general; - to create space for sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas with the atmosphere of common understanding between peers representing different cultures and backgrounds. The YE intends to find the macro and micro level perspectives of youth involvement and understanding, what youth can do for creating a new reality in the field of youth and civil participation and to empower our participants by soft skills. Soft skills are the personal attributes you need to succeed in the workplace. These are often related to how you work with others – in other words, these are people skills. Racism is more than just words or actions. It also includes the invisible barriers, that can prevent people from doing as well in life as others simply because of their cultural background.
