Twelve youth organizations from all regions of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa have come together to foster international cooperation and participation among youth through a common European project, the "International Exchange Program on Peace, Democracy and Diplomacy" set to be carried out from July 20th to August 8th 2019, in Berlin, Germany. The program sets out to achieve following goals: increasing knowledge among participants and partners through non.formal and practical oriented teaching, contribute to development of skills and foster rhetoric skills such as public speaking. We have invented a three step strategy: Gain Knowledge – apply experiences – create innovations. In Workshops lead by young experts the participants will gain knowledge and experiences, which they'll practically apply within the two simulations (MUN and own invented simulation on democratic bases of constitutions). Especially in the third week in our simulation, where they interact within different groups to create new constitutions and international treaties, they will create innovations. Hereby, the project promotes innovative solutions to global and European issues. Throughout the project, the participants will especially treat the topics peace, democracy and diplomacy. Within an international and diverse community of young people, they will decrease stereotypes and work out things they have in common. Experiencing a unique international spirit, they practically learn about the high value of successful diplomacy and a functional democracy for peace in Europe and worldwide. Furthermore, they gain insights in the European Union and its institutions. Besides, the project offers ideas for civic engagement and individually support participants to become active in their respective local communities. They will gain the tools needed to work out concepts for own projects and their implementation. The program supports each participant individually to become active sustainably.
