Swing to the right? No thanks! We want a free, solidary Europe for all! How this can work and what other worlds of life exist alongside the current mainstream, we would like to explore with the project "European Others?!". "European Others?!" is a critical and emancipatory confrontation with the nationalist and right-wing extremist tendencies of European mainstream society, which seriously question the ideal image of Europe as a place of freedom and security in recent years, which affects the diverse life in Europe. These forces, which achieve increasing electoral success, demand a separation from Europe to the outside and a rejection of the lived diversity within. It is all the more important that young people seek their own answers to the current socio-economic challenges and tell their stories in order to counteract the right-wing shift in Europe. The aim of our project is to create a new narrative about the understanding of Europe that challenges the one of right wing through an international youth exchange. In the encounter, the values of the EU should be reflected and celebrated with artistic means and made visible: We want to create an understanding for each other that is based on diversity, openness, equal rights, lived coexistence and international solidarity. We want to help young people all over Europe to show solidarity with each other and to participate actively and critically in the shaping of European society. In order to give a voice to young people who are not heard in the current climate, we offer them a stage, we strengthen their self-efficacy by creating methods and expressions with them. We want to strengthen self-esteem and confidence so they be able to develop future perspectives. At the same time, they are made aware of and committed to European values in accordance with Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union.
