Carpathian Stories will engage participants with important themes of environmental awareness and sustainability, equip them with skills in digital media literacy, and provide an intercultural exchange in an outdoor setting using non-formal learning and experiential education. The youth exchange will also foster participants' critical thinking capacities, inviting them to reflect on how media narratives are constructed. Through bringing young people together to collaborate in an international context we aim to foster the values of intercultural tolerance and respect between participants of diverse and often disadvantaged backgrounds. Carpathian Stories will introduce young participants to a region of the Ukraine that stands out for its natural beauty and historical and cultural diversity. It will allow them to explore the beauty, diversity and fragility of the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains. It will engage with a topic of pressing importance and relevance for the local region, for the Ukraine, and for the planet which we inhabit.
