We wanted more teachers to have interest in the international profile Hunderupskolen wants to have. We wanted to give teachers and educators the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge within specific areas, which they could spread in the entire organisation. We also want that more teachers were comtable and felt safe communicating in English. That teachers wanted to improve one's skills or qualifications and experience how a lot of people in Europe have plenty of experience when it comes to teaching and that they want to pass it on to as many others as possible. Also to have the opportunity to nerd out a specific interest within teaching.
For quite some years now, Hunderupskolen has applied for fonds for teacher training within EU. Our experience shows us that these courses have a great and valuable effect on the participating teachers and afterwards a positive effect on other teachers in school, who harvest knowledge and experience from the participating teachers. Sharing knowledge is important and contents from the courses has been spread within school. That is why we applied for new fonds. The title war "It's very addictive" og these teacher training courses are!! They add several additional dimenssions compared to teacher training we can participate in locally. The international courses or seminars gives us a true international perspective, which is an eye opener. Subsequently one is on unknown territory - not home in known surroundings, but it has a positive effect. You are more attentive and you take everything in and bring it home. Likewise teachers and school get a real international connection, which we use in addition to projects across borders, pupils send each other e-mails, we meet online with classes and the pupils show things they have done, read or sing and we find great partners for larger projects. Least but not last, these courses/seminars are organised by super professional educators or theorists, who are highly motivated to pass on knowledge, eager to discuss, reflect and evaluate the topics taught in a certain course. They are openminded and have ears for suggestions. Hunderupskolen will for sure apply in the future!
