Objectives

Our main goal was to be a to be a truly inclusive and united community with strong social responsibilities and values which is like an extended family, with pride in our values and traditions, emphasizing respect for others, tolerance, empathy, compassion and collaboration. We needed to focus on change management and our common leadership ability as a leadership team and ensure that we were working for a common European identity rather than a local or national one. We also wanted to ensure that we were doing our utmost to develop future leaders with a global outlook, providing leadership programmes, a distinctive global education for future leaders, and ensuring the our students thrive. An additional goal was to be a world leader in education for sustainability and global responsibility with focus on the UN Sustainability goals and doing our part as educators. We were also committed to developing exceptional educational partnerships and collaboration with a range of educational, business, charitable and voluntary institutions locally, nationally and globally. We had just built a new strategy bookended by these issues and were looking to support these ideals.

Background

We applied for this project because we wish to deliver the highest quality education to our students, focusing on 21st century learning skills, ICT and well-being. Moreover, we wished to minimize staff and student turnover and increase life-long learning skills in both stakeholder groups. To do this, we wished to strengthen our ties with European schools, strengthen our collective management skills and ensure that all staff were fully on board with our new strategic intentions aimed at ensuring that we were preparing global citizens who could take responsibility in our world.
