Skive College wanted to expand the collaborations that already existed in Europe and establish new ones with both companies and schools. Skive College wanted to develop new teaching methods and get inspiration for other ways of teaching to continuously develop teaching at the school. Skive College wanted to be part of the international work in e.g., EU, which is why the international coordinator has been tasked with keeping an eye on and influencing new development opportunities in international work. Skive College wanted to give the students at the school the opportunity to be international during their education, where they looked beyond the country's borders when it comes to internships, exchange opportunities and collaboration with international companies and other actors.
Skive College's strategy has, among other things, focus on internationalisation, where Skive College will be an attractive educational institution locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Skive College will internationalize the school at a pace that corresponds to the increasing internationalization in society and the industries that the school's programs cover. Part of the strategy reads, among other things, "Through the international work, the school will strengthen the personal, professional and linguistic qualifications of pupils, teachers and other staff groups, as well as inspire new thinking in the ongoing process of developing the programs and promoting the encounter with new cultures, which will become an increasingly large part of our everyday life." To achieve this, ERASMUS+ is an important part, as the program provides the opportunity for students, teachers and other staff groups to travel out and meet different cultures and live in another country at the same time as the school receives new experiences and teaching methods from other countries, thus the teaching at Skive College also gets an international angle and the quality is continually raised, as the latest knowledge becomes part of the teaching.
