Objectives

Entrepreneurship is defined as “an individual’s ability to turn ideas into action. It includes creativity, innovation and risk-taking, as well as the ability to plan and manage projects in order to achieve objectives” (European Parliament and Council, 2006). InterCollege and its partners recognise that these features are vital, however, they are also intangible and not easily taught. The partners notice a stigma attached to failing as an entrepreneur, making youth less inclined to take the necessary risks. Thus, the partners strongly believe that under the right conditions, youth who are motivated to realise their innovative ideas can develop the necessary competences and be empowered to pursue self-employment. The aim of this project is to strengthen the youth sectors role in supporting young entrepreneurs through a reinforced network of youth organisations and increased capacity of youth workers in non- formal entrepreneurship education The aim will be reached through the following objectives: 1. Create concrete network of youth organisations across Europe for promoting entrepreneurial spirit amongst youth through utilising best practices and identifying shared innovative proposals; 2. Utilise newly established partnerships among the partners of the project to enhance local youth’s mobility possibilities, for instance through European Solidarity Corps. or Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs. 3. Explore and reinforce the role of non-formal education in the promotion of youth entrepreneurship; 4. Increase youth workers competencies and toolbox for delivering non-formal entrepreneurship education to young people. The project responds to the aims of a mobility within the field of youth by addressing the aim to support the professional development of youth workers with a view to innovate and improve the quality of youth work by reinforcing the partners’ international networks and sharing best practices to promote youth entrepreneurship and initiative. The project is subsequently supporting young people’s knowledge, skills and competences within entrepreneurship aiming to improve personal development, active citizenship and employability in the labour market.
