Objectives

By implementing the project we ant to: 1)Strengthen young people’s skills for engaging in dialogues about culture, religion and values in life. We believe that by bringing people together across borders, nationality, and religious standpoints and by presenting them for and engaging them in tools for respectful dialogue, a better understanding of the advantages of diversity, interculturality and social inclusion will be promoted. 2)Promote active citizenship by training young people to actively participate in European democratic and civil life. We believe that young people have an important voice to raise in the world of today. But in order to be active citizens, who dares to take part in debates and act on their beliefs, the future generation has to be aware of their own personal values and to have a language for sharing thoughts about life, religion, culture and democratic life. Therefore we introduce the case of engaging the participants in the UN Sustainable Goals (SDGs), as this is something which we all, also as young Europeans, have to engage in, which is also mentioned in the EU Strategy on “youth and the world”. The youth exchange has the following objectives: - To foster a sense of mutual understanding, by bringing together young people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, in terms of achieving and strengthening their own sense of self, in order to become a more active participant in the civil society. - To foster their feeling of sharing common values despite of differences. - To create space for intercultural and ecumenical and interreligious dialogue. - To explore each other's cultures through various activities. - To explore what it is like to be a European citizen in the different participating countries, as well as sharing their individual cultures and how this influences their identities. - To obtain different non-formal competences from the youth exchange and disseminating those learned skills to other new possible relations, friendships and partnerships. - To promote and train active citizenship by letting the participants work on projects related to the SDGs, which they can carry out in their own local settings
