We did already before "Camp Sophieskolen" have very positive experiences with previous projects in our international cooperation "Exchanges for All", and we had first and foremost noticed, that both our students achieved confidence in using foreign language and develop personal/social skills from working in international groups with young people from other countries and from speaking in front of a larger group of people. We did further more noticed the same impact on staff members, who had participated in international projects, as they had become more interested in and expressed more confidence in working with the international dimension. As we always seek to give as many students as possible the opportunity to experience an exchange, we wanted with "Camp Sophieschool" to continue experimenting with the form of classic exchanges in order to seek ways of: A) Cutting costs pr. participant by using the schools as accomodation if possible. B) Trying new ways of meaningful cooperation and rise the level of student involvement (E.g. at the Danish camp where the needed kitchen facilities are available, by letting the workshop groups prepare the evening meals). This could also reduce cost pr. participant. C) By solely using bus transportation and preferably have several exchanges on same driving route in order to drive with full Bus/busses.
