Objectives

The main goal was to create a core of teachers at the school that would help students from foreign cultures to effectively adapt to our cultural space and include them in our education, while also giving our students the opportunity to learn to connect with young people from other cultures. The aim of the core of the teachers is to apply the knowledge acquired during the project and pass it on to colleagues and to support the school staff. It was important to prepare for the arrival of the next such students, to create a workable plan and guidance materials to support teachers and class teachers.

Background

The idea of the project was born from the need to gain more knowledge on how to cope with the challenges that teachers encountered in connection with students from another cultural space to study at Keila School. Having tried the opportunities offered in Estonia, we realized that the problem needs to be approached more broadly, comprehensively and systematically, and lessons learned from other countries' long-term experiences and best practices.
