Objectives

1) Employee well-being and professional and personal development. The school has headmasters and teachers with versatile education and good social skills, whose feedback shows that they control their stress levels more skillfully and master the principles of time management. 2) Based on feedback, it can be seen that teachers and school managers have key competencies at a higher level. These are primarily learning skills, social skills and entrepreneurship, foreign language skills and digital competence. 3) Sustainable international cooperation with partner organizations, where at the end of the project, at least 50% of the employees are involved, participating in both local and international projects

Background

The further goal of this project is to help fulfill the goals of the school's development plan. This can be done step by step by setting milestones. We have the need to be a modern and competitive school. Since 1999, the school has had continuous international cooperation and student exchange with several European schools, which gives the school its uniqueness. In 2017, a new development plan was drawn up, which, according to the needs of the school, aimed at modernizing the learning environment and set goals for the next six years. The satisfaction surveys revealed that the degree of fatigue of both senior and younger teachers is often high, they cannot cope with stress and overwork. The learning motivation of many students is also low, and it is necessary to pay more attention to these problems. Based on this, changes have been started and one or the other has already been achieved. The teacher's work is simplified and students' learning motivation is increased by the wider use of digital tools, which requires teachers to have better digital competence. For teachers, such a working environment that promotes professional and personal development is motivating. Motivated teachers, in turn, are better at understanding students' needs. If the teachers master modern teaching methods, they are reflected in the good results of the students, and the education received from Võrumaa's school is competitive. The first mobility project received a very positive response. We have also seen from our long-term experience that international cooperation is a source of motivation and skills for many. In many ways, this is a step towards achieving the goals of the development plan.
