ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP is an international youth exchange, a cooperation project between young people from Estonia and Spain, developed in close cooperation with young people and youth leaders in Spain. Carrying out by young people. Active citizenship is an important topic for young people because there are many passive young people among the peers and those who are unable to participate actively in society, either because of their limited social skills or for economic reasons. The main activities of the project are 2 meetings: one in Estonia and the other in Spain and the implementation of the action program (see annex). Both last for 6 days. The desired results of our project are formulated into objectives. Goals: 1. Participating young people (20) have gained new knowledge and experience of different opportunities for participation in social and community life, opportunities and importance of volunteering, time planning and event organization. Young people's horizons are broader, they are actively involved in spreading the idea of the project to their peers: in rural schools and youth centers, - in rooms. Increasing active citizenship. (specific goal) The project introduces video and flyer. 2. There have been 2 6-day meetings in Estonia, Türi and Spain, Elches with 20 young people and 4 youth leaders. Intercultural learning and exchange of experiences have taken place during the meetings: motivating and engaging young people. The knowledge and practical skills acquired during the project are implemented by young people in their personal lives. (scheduled goal) 3. There have been 2 public events that bring knowledge and experience to the inhabitants of the Türi and Elche communities (including the wider community of children, young people, families, the elderly). Young people can organize a public event from idea to implementation. (achievable) 4. Young people are able to notice and reflect on learning in non-formal learning and perform self-reflection on the example of a youth passport. At least 20 youth passports have been issued as non-formal learning documents (measurable) 5. Participating organizations are more in the field of media vision and the whole process of project planning and implementation adds value to youth work in both countries, to international youth work. (current) Realizing the goals of the project we reach the end result. The realization of goals is based on the methods and principles of non-formal learning. Young people use different methods (workshops, group work, discussions, role-playing games, simulations, outdoor activities, etc.). Project activities are structured so that young people can gain knowledge, gain experience through practice, discover and experiment; to know and know your co-operation partners from Spain, to learn about their participation possibilities, the method of involvement and motivation, to exchange experiences. Intercultural learning takes place. In addition to learning, there is an important place in the cultural program: activities introducing the country, language, culture and practices (excursions, hikes, meetings, practical activities: cooking, volunteering). We want to carry out this project to show young people ways and opportunities for shaping the future, achieving a better life, becoming active citizens of the country, preventing social exclusion and unemployment in the future. A versatile young person who actively participates in community life, with a broad horizon, is less at risk of being excluded from the labor market in the future. We grow active citizens of the country.
