Objectives

We wanted to make sure that our school staff will become more competent in helping our bilingual, migrant students reach a satisfactory linguistic and academic level in all subject areas. We also wanted all of our students and staff to know how they can take advantage of all the available Erasmus+ projects.

Background

We applied because our school has a lot of students who are first or second generation immigrants. Most of our school teachers were not adequately prepared to teach in multilanguage and multicultural classes. Most of the migrant students cannot perform nearly as well as their peers in the school subjects that require age-appropriate academic language proficiency, as opposed to basic interpersonal communication skills. We also applied because we wanted to make the most of every Erasmus+ project possible and help our colleagues and students take advantage of the opportunities these projects offer. Our two mobilities were planned so that we could reach these two separate goals.
