Through the implementation of the project, our teachers wanted: a) to acquire skills and knowledge necessary for the integration of new digital technologies (ICT) in classroom teaching in relation to the interdisciplinary approach of the subjects they teach so that they are able to: a1 ) to create ready-to-use material through modern online applications (apps) to support the school or its organizational development in the field of ICT, a2) to create digital platforms that support open educational resources and educational systems open to their philosophy b) to design lesson plans that cultivate interdisciplinarity, collaboration in the classroom with special provision for disadvantaged students, c) to develop basic skills such as critical thinking on media and digital literacy while being able to promote the use ICT in the digital classroom, the 'future class', d) to increase the quality and relevance of basic education at all levels, e) to review and develop personal and professional skills, and finally f) to support innovative and active pedagogies that respond to European social and cultural diversity.
The changes in the structure of our school unit, with the renewal mainly of the teaching staff, pushed us in the search for ways of reintegrating the European programs in our strategic planning and in our goal setting. We considered that applying to this project will improve the quality of school services and enhance its extroversion while at the same time it can significantly contribute to the quality upgrade of the provided education and the efficiency of the educational process in the classroom. This planning was deemed necessary for the coming years as the mobility of the staff, with the object of training, will contribute to the formation of appropriate attitudes and behaviors of our teachers and to acquire skills that will enable them to face the challenges that arise in the modern European multicultural environment. The continuous pursuit of our teachers in their participation in every way in research activities and in cultivating friendships with their European colleagues for the discovery of new, creative ways of teaching and effective models of school administration was an additional reason for the implementation of the project.
