Through this project, our school sought: (a) the strengthening of its European dimension, (b) to deepen the understanding of the concept of inclusive education by teachers, which is a prerequisite for providing equal learning opportunities in mixed-capacity classrooms, (c) the renewal of the teachers’ teaching skills, in order to facilitate the transition from traditional to modern teaching methods, which favor learning by all students, (d) the development of the teachers’ classroom management skills and good relationships building skills, so that classrooms are characterized by a friendly and creative atmosphere, (e) the improvement of staff management and communications skills by school administration, so that everyone (administration, teachers, students, parents) works together in order to achieve more effective learning for all students, (f) the development of skills by teachers in the use of modern digital tools in teaching, but also in other functions of the school, in order to ensure more effective communication and cooperation, both among its members and with other schools, in the direction of the internationalization of the school.
The Gymnasium of Archanes considered that it needed a plan to improve learning outcomes, updated in order to provide "equal learning opportunities" to all students, and that it should strengthen its European dimension. In order to meet the above needs, we deemed as necessary an organized and systematic training of some of our teachers on the concept of "inclusive education" and its basic principles, in new teaching methods that favor learning by all students, in classroom management methods as well as methods of building good relationships in the classroom, so that the classroom is characterized by a friendly and creative atmosphere, the use of modern digital tools in teaching. It was also deemed as necessary to improve the staff management skills and communication skills of the school administration, so that everyone (administration, teachers, students, parents) work together to achieve more effective learning for all students.
