Objectives

The expected objectives of the participation of the teachers of our School are multiple and that is why we have chosen to participate in 3 different streams in order to cover a wide range of objectives. The main objective of all the participants is to promote the educational work in the school, and in particular: 1. Aim to improve the educational performance of the school to benefit the pupils through enhancing the training of teachers. 2. To enable close contact with new procedures and new practices for the School’s teachers. 3. To create additional incentives for training of school teachers. 4. To be informed about the use of web 2 and new technologies in the classroom. 5. To be trained in the use of social media as a learning tool. 6. To create networks with other school units and to strengthen the intercultural and European dimension of our school. 7. To create the conditions and experience for a future cooperation at a high-level KA2. 8. To inform the participating teachers of the implementation of personalised education in the Swedish education system. 9. To practise the use of the English language and technology.

Background

In meetings, members of The School’s Teachers' Association expressed the wish of the School's teachers to participate in training programmes within the framework of European Erasmus KA1 programmes. The motivation for participation was to study the ways in which different systems have managed the daily problems that concern education and the general design of school systems operating in non-Greek environments. They wish to assess the final results, learn and compare them with their own experience in Greek schools. The adoption of successful educational practices and administrative methods, the exchange of views and reflections on pedagogical issues from the European educational area, the cultivation of European culture and consciousness with the ultimate goal of accepting diversity and multiculturalism as well as improvement of teaching and administrative methods and the development of a foreign language are all objectives of our participation in the Erasmus KA1 programme.
