So the needs of our school can be summarized as follows: • Innovative teaching methods based especially on experiential learning • Internationalization • Development of actions in formal and non-formal education, aimed at forming citizens with an active European mentality, open to the world • Development of values such as acceptance of diversity, respect for the dignity of each person • Understanding our cultural heritage through understanding other cultures • Collaborations with schools in other countries through eTwinning programs, Erasmus+ School Partnerships, etc • Interdisciplinary approach to knowledge to obtain a complete picture of the world around us • Opening the school to the wider community and the outside world in general • Integration of digital technologies in the teaching practice, with the use of computers/tablets/smartphones • Study of good practices in the teaching of positive lessons of European schools operating in conditions similar to those of the Greek school • Engage as many students as possible • Limiting student attrition
Our school applied for the specific program aiming at the following: A) in the recording and integration of methods and techniques of the host school of on-site work monitoring regarding the connection of the positive lessons with their practical application. In recording and integrating practices of encouragement, critical thinking, creativity, initiative and collaboration. In gaining knowledge about how technology can be integrated into the teaching of positive lessons by helping students to explore new and fun tools and also to motivate students with low achievement and/or learning difficulties. B) in the design and implementation of programs and actions that can be integrated into formal and non-formal education, in order to cultivate a European mindset and approach to knowledge in an interdisciplinary manner. In the utilization of the thematic unit of culture cross-curricularly in all subjects of the curriculum and in general all individual sciences taught at school as independent units.In the acquisition of knowledge and skills that promote internationalization, the understanding of other people's culture, the appreciation of their own cultural heritage and the development of values such as acceptance of diversity, cooperation and communication between people.
