The main goal of this program was the integration of educational robotics in our school curriculum, to integrate all our students in the educational process by providing them with learning motivation, but also to make teaching itself more attractive with the use of new technologies. Thus, the main goal of the mobility was to train our teachers on the use of robotics and programming in school through the monitoring of new - modern teaching methods, their familiarity with the implementation of innovative educational programs in the classroom, the development of their digital-technological skills but also the interaction and exchange of good practices with teachers and schools of other European countries.
The Primary School of Avdira is a small six-grade school located in a rural area of Xanthi Prefecture. Most of our students come from disadvantaged family settings with minimal opportunities for extracurricular activities. Our main goal was through this mobility to gain knowledge, experience, and the appropriate supplies that will allow us to give our students new learning motivation and the opportunity to get to know Robotics, to acquire skills related to new technologies. and be playfully introduced to technology and science. At the same time, our main goal was to provide quality training to our teachers to acquire the necessary digital - technological skills for the teaching of Robotics in Primary School, their acquaintance with modern teaching methods, and innovative educational programs applied in the most advanced educational systems of Europe, such as that of Finland and Estonia, the cooperation with teachers and schools of other European countries and the exchange of pedagogical ideas aiming at the upgrading of their professional identity, enriching their knowledge and improving their ability to communicate with the use of the English language. Finally, through this first participation in a European staff training program, we sought to open our school to Europe, to internationalize it through the exchange of experiences, knowledge, know-how, and, more generally, good educational practices, which will contribute to the European modernization but will also broaden the European horizons of the local community.
