The main goal of this mobility plan was to gain specialized knowledge and experience on the successful German dual system model from organizations with years of experience in the institution. In addition, we aimed at the transfer of know-how, methods and practices, in the effort to integrate selected elements of the German model to improve the implementation of the institution of Apprenticeship in the Greek reality within the possibilities given to us by the State.
During the implementation of the newly introduced institution of Apprenticeship in the Greek educational system, encouraging results were found (good response from graduates, willingness from employers, good cooperation between those involved), but also several malfunctions and problems. There was a general concern from those involved (apprentices, teachers, companies) about the design and effectiveness of the institution as it applies. It was thus considered necessary to train some of our staff in a country like Germany, with huge industry, organization and efficiency and most importantly, many years of experience in implementing the dual vocational education system and is rightly considered the country that gave birth to Apprenticeship. We have submitted the application so that our institution, through mobility, is as harmonized as possible with similar European educational institutions, teachers are informed in terms of knowledge and innovation in cognitive and pedagogical level and encouraged in terms of European thinking and perspective, through the implementation of the available European programs and in collaboration with teachers or other bodies of our country.
