Objectives

Coping with stress, finding friends or rebelling against authority, these are the most common problems how youngsters are getting associated with alcohol or drugs. Especially when they don't see other escape route, they are running towards the “paradise” of addictive stupor and entering the sliding spiral leading to addiction. They are trapped in a world which seems to be full of insurmountable obstacles with only possible escape: numbness. We want to stop the self-destructive spiral they are trapped in and EMPOWER YOUTH TO CREATE SOMETHING MEANINGFUL. We want to take them OUT OF SPIRAL. Altogether with our partners we are focusing on YOUTH LIVING IN A RURAL AREAS, where is lack of opportunities for active involvement, therefore they are more eager to use alcohol and drugs. We will create SELF-SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY FROM INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPANTS - this context allows to youth to see they are conductors of their life and have all power to shape it as they wish, support them with realizing what they really want from life, identifying their skills and competences and putting them to practice. Main topics of Out of Spiral are SOCIAL INCLUSION and ENTREPRENEURSHIP, but due the created context we tackle also ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP, INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE and LABOR MARKET. MAIN OBJECTIVES of Out of Spiral are: A) To bring together 28 young people (18 – 30) from rural areas and 7 team-leader (20+) to main activity. B) To let participant identify, enhance and put it practice their skills and competencies. C) To let participants experience an international community, practice their communication and managing skills, boost their sense for solidarity and cooperation. D) To empower participants in their personal development with focus on entrepreneurial and labor competencies. E) To create “Recovery festival” during the main activity for regional community in Greece. It is fully connected with SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF ERASMUS+ in the field of youth; we are going to: • improve key competencies and skills of young people with fewer opportunities; • increase their active citizenship and employability through intercultural dialogue and cooperation; • increase learning mobility of youths for whom it can be hard to travel abroad due the lack of resources and possibilities; • strengthen the connection between youth workers (represented by partners organization) and labor market; • enhance youth employability and career prospects, sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, self-esteem, language competences (the whole project will be lead in English), enhance intercultural awareness and more active participation in society. At the end of the activity, participant will be aware of their dreams and next goal they want to achieve. They will be aware of their strength and weaknesses; they will name their learning in Youthpass and their skills and experiences in Europass. They will be more prone to create something useful and meaningful for the society in order to include themselves into society and include other from the society into active community. They will be able to analyze reality, set up a vision, goal, objectives, plans, and follow it. They will be able to act independently, proactively, inclusively, with a focus on a goal.
