Objectives

"There can be no daily democracy without daily citizenship", "Sustainability is friendship among generations". The quotes above reflect the ideas that are being presented in this project. The needs for the development of these ideas emerge from the realities that exist in many European countries, facing problems such as lack of engagement of youth with local communities and socio-political procedures, increased anti-semitic and racist behaviors, along with phenomena such as overconsumption, excessive waste production, and environmental pollution. Thus by implementing this project, we are looking forward to achieving an increased young voter turnout, a reduction of antisemitic and racist behaviors between young people while strengthening the trust of youth towards democratic institutions. We also aim to achieve a diminution of overconsumption of goods and energy and promote the reduction of our ecological footprint to young people. Our goals are to raise awareness about active citizenship and European citizenship, boost self-confidence and self-esteem of youth, increase environmental awareness and promote environmental sustainability. Furthermore, we want young people to build social, communication and leadership skills and acquire an increased intercultural awareness. The project also aims to familiarize youth with EU opportunities, create networking for future projects, increase the visibility of youth mobility projects and contribute to a wider recognition of non-formal education. Lastly, our goal is to involve participants in the European project-making process from a young age.
