Firstly, broaden the knowledge, as well as the personal and professional development, not only of the teachers involved in the project but also of the educational community in general. Secondly, the improvement of our linguistic competence through the linguistic immersion carried out in the target country. Also, by observing the teaching process in other countries, we have gained experience and promoted the exchange of methodology. Finally, the contact with other centers has allowed us to establish possible links and create institutional relationships for future projects (job shadowing or student mobility).
The first intention was the acquisition, by the whole school, of values and a feeling of internationalization that could then be extrapolated to our students in the classroom. In addition to this idea, knowledge of the culture of the destination country was considered, with the purpose of integrating into the classroom real content related to the way of life in the European country. Moreover, the structured courses seek to improve the linguistic competence of teachers, as well as to facilitate contact with other teachers in order to promote future joint mobility projects through eTwinning. Through this improvement of our teaching staff, the school aims to develop a multilingual programme more in line with what Europe asks of our students, always within the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). In this way, it would be possible to introduce more non-linguistic areas whose vehicular language is a foreign language, which favours the listening and proficiency of our students. Furthermore, we felt it was necessary to improve our linguistic competence in English or French in order to carry out job-shadowing activities or projects in other countries, such as Estonia, Iceland or Ireland.
