Objectives

Although our initial objective was to give our teachers the opportunity to acquire and improve their linguistic and didactic skills, and on the other hand, to experience the teaching and learning processes of schools that are characterised by the implementation of new technologies, the pandemic made the situation in our schools will change in terms of the methodologies used, taking a giant step. Although the need for teacher training remained the same, during these years we have learned and implemented innovative and active methodologies and we have also participated in eTwinning projects that have given us a different vision of the work we have been doing. In this sense, our initial objective of visiting successful schools changed to this new objective of sharing good practices with schools with which we have been working. This change has meant a very rich experience for all the institutions, The ultimate goal is that all of our teachers benefit from the courses through the website that our schools has for teacher training and that these learnings are reflected in more eTwinning projects that are developed with the students.

Background

This is a school located in a rural area, geographically isolated and with little access to culture and digital media. The families of our students have very limited economic and cultural resources, which places the majority in a situation of inequality with respect to students from larger populations. Taking this situation into account, in recent years the school has been immersed in a change in methodology that has resulted in a gradual improvement in the academic results of our students over the years, as well as in the improvement of digital competence of both teachers and students. This project arises from the need to promote all these changes and strengthen innovative methodologies. It is important to highlight that due to the pandemic, some teacher training courses and observations in educational institutions could not materialise until this very course, although this has not meant a stoppage in the training of our teachers in new technologies with online projects through eTwinning. These projects have helped us to adapt this Erasmus+ project to the new situation: we changed the institutions to observe for those which we have been collaborating during the pandemic.
