After analysing the situation of IES Sabinar, where the bilingual section grew every year and we perceived the need for innovative and inclusive methodologies to cater for diversity without losing sight of the 2020 agenda, we then agreed on the following objetives: - Progress in innovative, inclusive methodologies that allow us to better catter for diversity and prevent early school dropouts. - Develop teaching skills in an international environment, and at the same time export our bilingual model to European schools that want to implement it. - Explore new organisational, school management models, with the aim of improving ours. - Extend international relations to other didactic departments. We wanted to strengthen our bilingual programme, incorporate new teaching methodologies for inclusion, open to some other organisational models and boost the European dimension of our school. To be more precise, we wanted to reduce early dropout and increase the number of students who finish CSE (Compulsory Secondary Education) with a B1 level in a foreign language, take the aforementioned innovative methodologies to the context of the class in an efficient way in order to strengthen the bilingual programme and better cater for diversity in our school, improve the management and organisation of a school which has continued growing and widen our European network of contacts to improve our visibility and European dimension.
The recent history of IES Sabinar has turned it into a reference, a special and unique school in the province. The management team considers our Internationalization Plan an essential pillar of our Educational Project, as it favours social inclusion, methodological innovation and the training of free European citizens. This plan took shape in 2015, when we adopted the Europe 2020 strategy and considered its objectives for education: reduction of early school leaving and increase the number of students who finish CSE (Compulsory Secondary Education) with B1 level in English. By 2020 we wanted tu turn IES Sabinar into a school connected to Europe, open, dynamic, permeable and promoter of changes in order to meet our objectives.
