Objectives

On the one hand, one of the objectives of this project would provide a linguistic update to teachers and an improvement in skills related to the CLIL methodology. On the other hand, observing good practices in foreign centers facilitates the acquisition and integration of the contents covered during the training course. Both objectives have been fulfilled by being able to develop two different mobilities in which different centers and teachers in our region have benefited. The training courses have combined the development of contents based on CLIL methodology together with the observation of a natural environment where they can be put into practice. All this knowledge will be transferred to our classrooms so that the students can recover the teachings received by the teachers during both stays. Therefore, we can affirm that both objectives have met the initial plans included in the project.

Background

Our teachers need constant updating in their teaching practice. The experience provided through this project is a linguistic immersion; the contact with the culture and the observation of schools abroad will bring a unique opportunity for our teachers. One of the motivations for applying for this project arose from the need to create an environment conducive to strengthening the linguistic competence of French-speaking secondary school teachers, who generally have fewer opportunities for training courses and activities in the educational field, as well as to provide a better knowledge of CLIL methodology, included and offered within our Foreign Language Education System (Spanish acronym: SELE), In the two mobilities carried out, our teachers have received specific training in CLIL methodology, beneficial for our Foreign Language Teaching System. In addition, this plan includes French as a language offered in ANL subjects in secondary education. One of our main priorities within the Ministry of Education would be to promote activities related to the internationalization of schools at a regional level. Thus, this experience can be used as a springboard for promoting Erasmus+ among the teachers.
