Objectives

Teachers understand that they are responsible for providing their students with the tools that will contribute to their integral development, that we are living in a time of change, where the resources they used before are no longer suitable for providing effective responses to the new demands of a global society. The offshoring of work, mobility and digitalisation are already a fact, so they were willing to collaborate to achieve common goals and overcome the obstacle of the language barrier. The members of the consortium share their need to: - Determine the nature and extent of extremism in today's society, as well as to analyse different models from educational systems that consider the aforementioned challenge. - Recognise the helplessness of victims of negative extremism. - Gain an understanding of current recommended procedures for protecting and supporting vulnerable individuals. - Analyse teaching units designed to prevent negative extremism. - Deepen their knowledge of the English language. - Establish links with people from other countries. In addition, all schools show interest in participating in ERASMUS+ projects coordinated by CFR Ferrol.

Background

The consortium organised by CFR Ferrol and made up of CEIP A Gándara, CEIP Maciñeira, CPR San José, IES Canido and IES Fernando Esquío aimed to implement a European Development Plan (EDP) which was approved by their teaching staff. The element of cohesion shared by these schools is the motivation of their management teams, staff and educational communities towards the process of internationalisation, which encourages their teaching staff to carry out training activities in the EU that will enable them to improve the following aspects: - their educational projects; - their professional teaching competences; - fostering the improvement of the competences of the other professionals in the school; - optimising the teaching-learning process of the students, as a result of the transfer of knowledge that the beneficiaries of the training will do once they have received it. Thus, the training activities chosen are part of the educational project and respond to the needs of the educational centres, all of which show great interest in the topic of preventing extremism in the classrooms, with a focus on the pupils and the quality of teaching.
