When this project was requested, one of the main objectives was to form a group of people in order to improve the school from an international point of view and at the same time improve’s teacher motivations to improve their teaching practice taking into account our high school reality. As already commented in previous sections, our high school has a significant number of first generation migrant students and a high number of students that come from socially disadvantaged environments ( guided by social services or living in shelters). Thus, one of this project's main objectives was to improve teacher’s motivation and at the same time give them the opportunity to widen their knowledge on topics and aspects that are part of the school project. Aspects such as dealing and working with tolerance, and understanding among different cultures living in heterogeneous realities. Everything from an egalitarian, european and integrative perspective. Moreover, improving the teacher’s linguistic competence was also an objective of this project by means of being in contact with other cultures and countries who work differently and exchanging different perspective is always enriching.
Our school concentrates a significantly high number of first generation migrant students, as well as a high number of students guided by social services or living in shelters. This aspect has a direct influence on our students and school results. For this reason teaching within our high school context does not only involve teaching a particular subject. In fact most of the time teachers have to work on basic principles to connect with students and make them interested by connecting with them, so that then they show interest in the different subjects. For this reason, it was considered that requesting a project for teacher training focused on students would contribute to improve this aspect. Therefore, this project aims at forming 4 different teachers so that they can foster they motivation and also improve their knowledge on the different topics that are part of the school projects as well as that they acquire different ways and perspectives on how to help different students with different socioeconomic backgrounds and realities.
