We wanted to carry out training courses in English both on the methodology of teaching foreign languages, as well as on the improvement of communication skills in English and methodological strategies to implement its use in the classroom. The courses would help us to create professional links for future projects based on the meetings held during the training. Three other mobilities would be dedicated to two job shadowing with schools that have spent years implementing the Project-Based Methodology, interdisciplinarity and active methodologies, and that we believe would provide us with new perspectives and instruments to implement and thus improve our PBL-Plurilingual methodology and our Research Baccalaureate . These activities would help us to update the linguistic and methodological-evaluative competence that is so necessary and obligatory, currently, to obtain a high degree of acquisition and management of sociolinguistic competence and good academic performance in general, a shared objective in both schools.
We applied for this Project to continue with the internationalization of our school and to give a European dimension to the teaching methods we implement, since we had detected in the teaching staff the need to improve their communication skills in English and French in order to communicate, with confidence, with teachers of other nationalities within the different European programmes that are developed in our school and also with migrant students, mostly from French-speaking countries. On the other hand, our institution has been working on a PBL-Multilingual (English-French) methodology, always trying to innovate in teaching to better reach 21st century students. We considered that language teachers need to innovate their methodological competence in order to develop their digital competence, to discover the potential of digital technologies in language teaching and learning, to set themselves new challenges, to approach online resources for their professional development, to be able to develop an action plan with other European teachers to later put it into practice in our school, but being able to count on the collaboration and subsequent support of a network of professionals with similar interests.
