The main reason for developing this project was to be able to start working in the field of our Science baccalaureate in the exchange of good practices, identification of areas for improvement and design of joint activities to lay the foundations for the implementation of new innovative curricula that could be shared and improved by other European schools, knowing that these activities would bring improvement in our educational programme. Through this project, the aim was to create knowledge to improve the science baccalaureate curriculum, to improve the STEM competences of the students in order to enable them to successfully access future academic and employment stages. Finally, another objective of this project was to lay the foundations to start advancing towards joint projects and a Joint Qualification in the field of science.
Nazaret submitted the application of this project in 2019 in the framework of the creation of the school's strategic and international plan 2019-2022 (European Development Plan), with clear lines of international implementation throughout the center. Nazaret, recognized by the high employability of our students, added in its strategy 2013-2016 innovation and internationalization as axes of improvement. Following the strategic reflection for 2019-2022, the need of extending internationalization to all areas of the school was highlighted and areas for improvement and expansion of the international programme were detected. International activities had already been implemented in Higher Vocational Training with KA1 projects and participation in Erasmus KA2, Interreg and Euroregion projects, and with the EBBD Diploma (www.ebbd.eu) in the Humanities and Social Sciences baccalaureate programme. As these experiences had very positive results,, it was decided to extend internationalization to the Science Baccalaureate. Aware that the implementation of internationalization is not an instantaneous process, it was decided to apply for this project to lay the first foundations for internationalization in the area of baccalaureate science.
