Objectives

Teachers understand that they are responsible for providing their students with the tools that will contribute to their integral development, that we are living in a time of change, where the resources they used before are no longer suitable to provide effective responses to the new demands of a global society. The offshoring of work, mobility and digitalisation are already a fact, so they were willing to collaborate in order to achieve common goals and overcome the obstacle of the language barrier. The members of the consortium share the need to make plurilingualism an intercultural, integrating and inclusive commitment, as well as to update their linguistic competence in English, the first curricular foreign language in almost all of the Galician education system. The schools have managed to improve, thanks to this project, several aspects: - inclusion and diversity (attention to students with special educational needs); - internationalisation and interculturality; - active methodologies; - project-based learning and creativity; - new information and communication technologies (ICT); - improvement in certain curricular areas and educational innovation in general.

Background

The consortium organised by the CFR of Ferrol and made up of CEIP Plurilingüe A Magdalena, CEIP Plurilingüe de Andrade, CEIP Plurilingüe San Xoán de Filgueira, IES Plurilingüe Castro da Uz and CPR Plurilingüe Jesús Maestro aimed to implement a European Development Plan (EDP) which was approved by the teaching bodies of all the participating schools. The element of cohesion shared by these schools is the motivation of their management teams, teaching staff and educational communities towards the process of internationalisation, which encourages their teaching staff to carry out training activities in the EU that will enable them to improve the following aspects: - their educational projects; - their professional teaching competences; - fostering the improvement of the competences of the other professionals in the school; - optimising the teaching-learning process of the students, as a result of the transfer of knowledge that the beneficiaries of the training will do once they have received it. Thus, the training activities chosen are part of the educational project and respond to the needs of the educational centres, all of which are multilingual, with a focus on the pupils and the quality of teaching.
