The European Development Plan of IES JM Barandiaran BHI had as its main strategic objective the promotion and support of the process already started with the ultimate goal of offering our students and the entire educational community a centre open to Europe, with effective management, a methodology that incorporates new technologies, improves academic results and guarantees a climate of respectful coexistence. Innovating is always a challenge in any institution. Our highschool took on the challenge of making a methodological, digital, management and internationalisation change for the next courses. Without forgetting the need to guarantee and promote an adequate climate of respect and motivation in the classroom and the school in general. The objectives of this specific project are the following: a To delve into educational aspects that allow optimising the teaching-learning process of students in a positive climate of respect and coexistence and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into our daily teaching practice. b. To increase the teaching, management and organisational skills of the new management team. c. To consolidate the internationalisation of the school and improve our linguistic competence in English.
The project was designed in 2019 at IES JM Barandiaran BHI in Leioa with the purpose of advancing in the methodological, digital, management and internationalisation renewal of the school, initiated in previous courses. To date, we had travelled a long and fruitful path, in which the main strategic lines of the school had been launched. At that time, although we had a great experience in innovation and internationalisation, it was the first time that we embarked on an Erasmus+ project. The context of the highschool at that time was marked by our varied offer (ESO, Baccalaureate, FP...), the physical difficulty of having two buildings separated by 3 km, the recent total renovation of the management team, the need to improve the academic results of the students and create a climate of motivation and welcome Primary students who work with individual digital devices. In this context, the objective of the project was to consolidate processes already started, with the aim of building a school open to Europe, with effective management, a methodology that incorporates new technologies, improves academic results and guarantees a climate of respectful coexistence.
