According to the guidelines of our Educational Project of the Centre and our bast tradition and experience coordinating and participating in European projects, our primary objectives were: 1. The search for permanent quality in our educational response by means of innovative and inclusive methodologies –not only through structured courses, but also through best practices’ observation in European centres. 2. Harmonious coexistence and educational community participation. 3. Internationalization of our centre as a source of opportunities and cultural, social, occupational, and personal growth. Our teachers’ training will impact in a direct and positive way on our students. 4. Promote the progress of our ‘Personal Values’ students and reinforce the feeling of belonging to Europe. 5. Promote the principles and values of Democratic Coexistence –in terms of Active Citizenship.
This project arises in the context of the educational centre IES Clara Campoamor, which is located within Campo de Montiel, an economically deprived area of Castilla-La Mancha region. The opportunities for our students to establish closer links with students from other European countries are limited and, so that, the new Leadership Team intends our centre to adapt to the challenges derived from multilingualism through its internationalization, and besides through the development of linguistic competence, the reduction of early school leaving, and the improvement of school coexistence by means of new pioneering and inclusive methodological practices which may motivate our students to learn. Hence, our main reasons are: 1. To awake the love, interest, and curiosity for the teaching-learning process of foreign languages, internationalizing our centre this way. 2. To make teachers aware and get background on the most innovative practices being performed around Europe, in order to search for permanent quality on our educational response. 3. To achieve school relations and effective participation of our educational community, either through training, or observation of new and inclusive practices in European schools.
