1. The improvement of academic results presents two well-defined aspects that are framed in compulsory education and in post-compulsory education of a well-differentiated nature. In compulsory education, we believe the improvement of academic results must go through a methodological change that allows instrumental subjects to work transversally with the rest of the academic fields, firstly and secondly with project-based learning methodologies. 2. Improving social cohesion undoubtedly involves the application of the same methodologies mentioned, project-based learning (PBL) and transversal work between different areas, as well as promoting and facilitating peer learning. And work for the integration of students in a pleasant environment for learning. 3. Reach a reasonable level of knowledge of at least one foreign language. To achieve this goal and from the academic year 2014-2015 we decided to incorporate the English language in subjects from different areas outside of it. In other words, we adopt the CLIL methodology, (Integrated Learning of Contents in a Foreign Language) through the help of a counseling program called GEP.
The project was the basis for launching the internationalization project of our center. The internationalization project was based on two main axes: - Apply CLIL methodology (Integrated Content Learning in a Foreign Language, in our case English) in various subjects throughout the ESO educational stage. - Apply PBL methodologies (Project Based Learning). Combine both methodologies at all secondary levels and in subjects in hibere availability. In both lines of work, the PBL methodology and the CLIL methodology, we intend to give a new impetus through this project, improving language skills, mainly in the dimension of oral communication and in the multilingual and intercultural dimension, granting a new European dimension to our students and to the center as a whole that promotes the sense of European membership and citizenship and gives a broader dimension to the knowledge of at least one foreign language.
