The objectives we wanted to achieve by carrying out this project were: - to create, maintain and solidify human relationships so that group cohesion is transferred to all areas of the educational community. - to Strengthen fundamental aspects conditioned by music therapy in a positive way. - to Give importance to the relationship that music maintains with the world of emotions, thus providing a wide spectrum of benefits for the student. - to integrate choral/group singing in our center methodology in order to use music as a fundamental resource in the learning foreign languages (English), in improving language skills: diction, articulation, communication... -to promote the inclusion of music in the programming so that the students share motivating and emotional elements. -To consolidate the project so it could promote other choirs at different levels and in nearby schools.
We have requested this project due to the great benefit of music in the teaching-learning process. For this reason, it was necessary for a school like ES PUIG, due to the social and emotional needs of the students who are part of our educational community, a personal, social and human methodology that accompanies the student throughout their educational process. We needed not only to focus on the development of skills, knowledge or experience, but also to believe in people who are being trained, cultivated and flourishing. Our center has always given great importance to all cultural aspects that, at the same time, actively involve the community. Musical activities have been carried out at various moments during the school year: Christmas concerts, end-of-course festivals, batucada concerts and occasional performances by students who play instruments in their daily lives. Choral singing was also worked on in oral expression workshops in English classes through solidarity and melodic songs that were attractive to students (always in English). We also wanted to improve artistic training and enhance the cultural heritage of the entire community by collaborating with local and regional entities.
