Within the Directorate-General we wanted this project to consolidate our educational scheme by offering to our community a service that was both innovative and of a high quality. We aimed for it to foster European values such as those of equality, respect for human rights and solidarity between communities, as well as an environmental awareness. We also hoped to integrate Erasmus+ into the institutional project and into the everyday life of the school, as well as continue to be a reference for our city. Therefore, our aims for the project revolved around training our staff on new teaching methodologies and their subsequent application in the classroom, exchanging positive practices with an emphasis on solidarity and the environment, promoting the integration of different cultures within our school and improving skills in languages spoken across the European Union to achieve one of our future goals of becoming a trilingual education center. Further to this, we also intended to continue to expand the CLIL methodology in classrooms and to increase all subject matters provided in English. In short, our main priorities were to facilitate the professional enrichment and personal development of our staff, and to offer better services.
In today's society, the internationalization of educational centers is a great educational opportunity. This project began out of the need to extend the international projection of the school across all educational stages as, so far, this had only been consolidated within the stages of vocational training (initiated in 2010). Furthermore, the aim of this project was to learn and share alternative educational methodologies, as well as improve the knowledge and application of foreign languages in educational environments (CLIL). We also hoped to discover projects that aim to preserve the environment, advocate for non-discriminatory practices and foster solidarity between communities. Equally, through this project we wanted to give all our staff members the opportunity to improve both personally and professional by accessing an international experience. It should be stressed that since its inception, our school has always been fully committed to the training of its staff and has been at the forefront of the educational changes that have taken place across the country. In an increasingly interconnected world, we believe that mobility and European cooperation are key to further developing and evolving our educational project.
