This project was created with the aim: - To reduce school drop-out rates in our school, using European mobility as an incentive for our students. - To bring students closer to other realities, cultures and customs. -Encourage high school students to enroll in higher education studies. -To increase the opportunities for international mobility for learning or training purposes among the student body. -To promote the internationalisation of our study centre. -To modernise and enrich the key skills and competences of the members of our school -To promote a desire for internationalisation among the companies in our environment. -Connecting companies in our local environment with international companies -To promote European values -Promote the knowledge and application of the Erasmus+ programme.
"EuroPiaN Mataró" is the first individual KA102 project promoted by Escola Pia de Mataró. It is located in the city of Mataró and is part of a group of 20 educational institutions in Catalonia, "l'Escola Pia de Catalunya". Mataró is a pioneering city in the industrialisation of Catalonia, which is diversifying its productive sectors to recover the textile, commerce and tourism industries; promoting the nautical and health sectors. We have identified the following needs in the field of European cooperation and mobility that brought us to apply for this project: - There are few mobility opportunities for students - Collaboration with companies in foreign countries is insufficient. -vLow integration in the labour market of students from our school coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. - Insufficient knowledge of foreign languages in our students. - Little knowledge of the situation of vocational education in other European countries, and opportunities to study or work abroad in our staff. - Low knowledge of non-formal and informal education methods for acquiring key competences in our staff.
